The Department of Civil Engineering and e-Yantra robotics laboratory, AAA College of Engineering and Technology, conducted value added course on “Design and Development of Autonomous Robot for Civil Engineering” for final year Civil Engineering students from 29/01/2024 to 02/02/2024. This training program was conducted at the e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory in AAACET campus. Dr. S. Krishnapriya, HoD/Civil inaugurated the value added course and stressed the importance of Robotics course and its applications in civil engineering projects. Mrs. K. Padmapriya, AP/ECE, was the course instructor. Students were taught about programming of ATMEGA 16 Microcontroller, Embedded C, Digital logic, AVR studio 4.17 and Interfacing of various devices.
Ten Days Certificate Course on “Application of Java Programming” from 29.01.2024
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering conducted a ten days certificate course on ‘Application of Java Programming’ from 29.01.2024 to 08.02.2024. In the view of increasing the placement in the IT sector, this course is arranged for the third year EEE students. Mr. J. Jeejo Vetharaj, Senior Technical Trainer from Silicon Software Services Private Limited, Madurai was the resource person for the programme. Dr. M. Sekar, Principal presided over the inaugural ceremony on 29.01.2024 and advised the students to utilize the course and to develop the programming skills. Also, he nurtured the students to continue the programming practices. The trainer explained the basic concepts of Java Programming such as loops, arrays, OOPs, Inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation and threads during the lecture hours. The trainer conducted hands-on sessions for the students and also conducted online programming tests to evaluate their performance. The certificates were distributed during the valedictory ceremony on 08.02.2024.
Women Empowerment Cell Conducted Awareness program on “Adolescent PCOS” on 22.02.2024
Women Empowerment Cell and Harassment Prevention Committee conducted an Awareness program on Adolescent PCOS by Dr.V.Munira M.B.B.S.,M.S(O.G),DNB(O.G).,D Lap., on 22.02.2024 at Sir Visvesvaraya Hall, from 2 to 3 p.m. Doctor delivered us valuable insights about cancer and PCOS..All third year girls students enthusiastically participated in this program.The Coordinator of this program were Mrs.T.Vinothini AP/CSE and Mrs.M.Arun devi AP/ECE who coordinated it an effective manner with the support of other faculty coordinators of WEHPC.
World Radio Day Celebration on 13.02.2024
The Department of Electronics Communication, AAA College of Engineering and Technology Sivakasi celebrated the World Radio Day on 13-02-2024 Tuesday. The day was proclaimed by the UNESCO in 2011 and observed annually to commemorate the anniversary of the first radio broadcast on February 13, 1922, by the United Nations (UN) Radio. The objective of World Radio Day is to raise greater awareness among the public and media regarding the importance of radio. The theme for the World Radio Day 2024 is “Radio: A century informing, entertaining and educating”. The United Nations states, “The 2024 observance highlights the history of radio and its powerful impact on news, drama, music and sports. As a part of this programme, a exhibition session of the radio receivers for understanding the evolution of radio receivers and guest lecture are arranged by the ECE department.
AAACET Principal Dr.M.Sekar inaugurated the exhibition of Vintage radio receivers arranged in the room no: 2101 ((Cambridge block I floor). In his inaugural speech, he recounted how radio service was a major source of national and international news for the general public before television, computers, internet and mobile phones were introduced. Dr. G. Jayahari Prabhu, AP/ECE, gave a briefing of his 1930s-era radio receiver collection with license note book used in 1970s for keeping the radio receivers. In his collections, greater number of radio receivers’ use valves i.e. vacuum tubes as active devices for detection, amplification, and other functions. Dr. T. Senthil, HOD/ECE, gave a presentation in which he discussed the history of radio receivers, beginning with Guglielmo Marconi, Lee De Forest—dubbed the father of radio—and Armstrong, who made groundbreaking contributions to the realm of wireless networks. The students and faculty members of the various departments of the AAACET participated in the exhibition and interacted with the organizers, regarding the early detectors, TRF and heterodyne receivers.
Value Added Course on “Smart Building Automation using IoT” from 22.01.2024
The Department of Civil Engineering organized a Value-added course on ‘Smart Building Automation Using IoT’ from 22/01/2024 to 26/01/2024 in Centre of IIOT, Cambridge Block, AAACET. Mr. M. S. Kalyana Sundaram, Assistant Professor/ EEE, was the resource person for the programme. The course was offered to fourth-year B.E. Civil Engineering Department students. At the end of the five days course, the students came to know about the various types of IoT devices which are used in smart buildings to automate work operations, collect data and control temperature. The students understood the applications of IoT in smart buildings, such as facilities management, security, smart irrigation and home automation.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outreach Program for School Students on 07.02.2024
The Program School Innovation Development Project (PSIDP) of AAA College of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with the Innovation and Incubation Center (IIC), has successfully organized an “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outreach Program” in schools and communities of Virudhunagar district. The primary objective of this program was to encourage and nurture innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills among students from a young age. The program began with an inspiring speech by the college principal, Dr. M. Sekar, Chairperson, IIC – AAACET who emphasized the importance of instilling innovation from the very beginning of a student’s educational journey. Finally, Dr.G.Vairamuthu, President IIC – AAACET conclude the Program School Innovation Development Project and the Innovation and Incubation Center of AAA College of Engineering and Technology have set an exemplary model for other institutions to follow.
Three Days Faculty Development Programme on “Recent trends and advancements in semiconductor devices modelling through machine learning” on 23 – 25th January 2024
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with IETE Students Chapter, AAACET organized, three days Faculty Development Programme on “Recent trends and advancements in semiconductor devices modelling through machine learning” on 23 -25,January 2024. External Participants from Anna University Guindy campus Chennai ,SRM Easwari Engg College Chennai ,E.G.S Pillai Engg College Nagapattinam ,Velammal Engg College Madurai ,PSR Engg College Kalasalingam University, Kamarajar Engg College VNR, Sri Vidhya Engg college VNR, registered for the FDP and attended .Internal Participants from various departments of AACET also participated .Mrs.K.Padmapriya AP/ECE welcomed all the participations for the three days FDP.In the Inaugural address Dr.M.Sekar Principal insisted the faculty members to attend this kind of FDP to update the latest technologies in their specific domain and disseminate the knowledge gained, among the student community. The external experts Dr.V.Sandeep Post –Doctoral Researcher KARE Krishnankoil, Dr.R.Ramesh Professor/ECE Sastra University, Thanjavur, Dr.N.B.Balamurugan Professor/ECE Thiyagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai and Mr.P.Muthukrishnan Hashan Medicare Bengaluru delivered the lecture in the FDP sessions.
The external experts explored the research areas and advancements in the VLSI device modelling, Phosphorene device modelling, GaN HEMT device modelling and electronic automation. The internal Experts Dr.T.Senthil HOD/ECE ,Dr.B.Padmanabhan ASP/ECE also handled sessions and delivered lecture in the Nano electronic device modelling. The Participations interacted with the experts regarding the problem identification for their research study and softwares needed for the device modelling. In the Valedictory function Dr.T.Senthil HOD/ECE outlined the Key takeaways from the experts lecture and asked the participants to attend the refresher FDP programme /Workshop to brush up the device modelling skills. Dr.M.Sekar Principal distributed the Participants certificate in the valedictory function. In the feedback session both external and internal participants expressed their appreciations for the FDP arrangements in the relevant design and semiconductor device modelling. Dr.B.Padmanaban ASP /ECE and Mrs.K.Padmapriya acted as Coordinators for the FDP. Dr.B.Padmanaban ASP/ECE delivered vote of thanks and the 3 day-long FDP was ended by concluding remarks of Dr.T.Senthil HOD/ECE, followed by National Anthem.
National Girls child day – Girls Hackathon 2024 on 24.01.2024
On behalf of National Girls child day, our institution organizes an All Girls Hackathon -2024 in association with TechDiva foundation on 24.01.24.Totally, 31 girls students from various schools participated in that event.Ms.Subha pandian,Founder iDREAMS, was the chief guest.The Hackathon starts at 9:30 a.m onwards.Student volunteers from department of EEE coordinate with TechDiva foundation for conducting the event by using codezing.The event ends by 1:00 p.m.Certificates were distributed to the participants and finally the event coordinator Mrs.B.Sarojini,AP/EEE delivered a vote of thanks.

The Department of Civil Engineering conducted an awareness session on ‘My life, my responsibility’, for I year and II year Civil Engineering students on 24.01.2024 from 10 a.m to 12 p.m at Sir Isaac Newton Seminar Hall.The resource person was Dr.Aasha, Psychological Counsellor and Therapist, Zen Counselling & Therapy Center, Madurai.The resource person gave an overview of the issues which would be faced by students and the ways to tackle them.She also interacted with the students.
Tagline Writing Competition on 12.01.2024
Literary & Fine Arts Club and Science and Humanities Association of AAA College of Engineering and Technology conducted ‘Tagline Writing Competition’ for the students on 12th January, 2024. It was organized at the Drawing Hall of Oxford Block. 57 students enthusiastically participated in it. S. Aslam of I year AI & DS won I prize, M. Shanmugananth of I year AI & DS bagged II prize, S. Sanjay Guru of I year AI & DS got III prize. B. Sobana, Shakthyananthi U A & R. Kavin Murugesan of I year AI & DS, C. Kavi Bala & K. S. Afreen Fathima of I year. CSE ‘A’, V. Vaishalini, C. Mahithasri & S. Nashrin Nisha of I year CSE ‘B’, R. Maheswaran of I year Mech, R. Rajalakshmi of II year CSE, S. Monika Sri of II year ECE got consolation prizes.
