Today 2nd year ECE students went to an Industrial Visit to Madurai International Airport on 11.03.2024.Totally 60 students attended the Industrial Visit.First, they visited the CNS(Communication Navigation Service) room , Equipment sector , Air Traffic section(ATS) . The Airport staff assigned as guide,explained about, how dedicated Wireless RF Communication is established between ground staff and pilot.Also a brief explanation about the microwave RF equipments used for radio navigations were given.Then a live demo on take off and landing a aeroplane was displayed.The demo was very deep and watched a live communication between the ground staff and pilot discussing about directions,latitude, longitude, weather conditions,air velocity etc.Then a interactive Q/A section was organised.Overall this Industrial Visit was very useful,informative to the ECE Students.The following ECE faculty members Mrs.K.Padmapriya ,Mr.C.Shanmugaraja,Dr.G.Jayahari Prabhu,Mrs.M.Arundevi and Mr.P.Samayan accompanied II year students for the above visit.
EEE Industrial Visit on 20.11.2023
A one-day industrial visit was arranged on 20.11.2023 to Solar Power Plant, Kurunaikulam and Venus Home Appliances, Tuticorin, for the II Year Electrical and Electronics Engineering students.
In Forenoon Session, students visited Solar Power Plant, Kurunaikulam. In that session, the company person delivered the details of the plant; then, they introduced the step-by-step process of the solar power generation at the plant, from sunlight capture to electricity distribution.
In afternoon session, students visited Venus Home Appliances, Tuticorin. The visit mainly focused on understanding the manufacturing processes of water heaters, ceiling fans from raw materials to finished products. The industry persons explained the overview of the water heater industry, its significance in household and commercial sectors, and its contribution to the overall energy consumption. They described the different types of water heaters available in the market, like tank-based, tankless, heat pump, solar-powered, etc. 54 students with three faculty members accompanied with the visit.
Industrial Visit to Apollo Electrical Service on 20.10.2023
A one-day Industrial Visit was arranged to Apollo Electrical Service, Madanadar Kudiyeruppu, Tirunelveli District, for the IV-year students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on 20.10.2023. 33 students and three faculty visited the company. The students explored the mechanism of internal parts of Induction Generator, Transformer and Winding arrangements. The visit was informative and useful to the students.
Mechanical Industrial Visit to Anaamalais Toyota, Sivakasi on 25.04.2023
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has organised a one-day Industrial visit to ANAAMALAIS TOYOTA, Sivakasi, on 25.04.2023 for B.E. IV year Mechanical Engineering students. Dr.P.Senni kannan (HoD/Mech), Mr.G.Manikandaraja (Asst. Prof.) and Mr. M.Karthikeyan (Asst. Prof.), faculty of Mechanical Engineering department, accompanied this industrial visit. The HR of Anaamalais Toyota received us at the entrance and gave a brief introduction about the industry. Then he took us around the industry from one section to the next and explained the processes involved in general service, waterwash, spare parts, tools room, painting section, engine room etc. The workers were doing their work with more concentration. Everyone inside the industry was wearing masks, safety shoes and gloves. Finally, the industrial visit ends at 12:40 P.M.
EEE Industrial Visit to Anaamalais Toyota on 15.02.2023
A one-day Industrial visit was arranged on 15.02.2023 to Anaamalais Toyota Car Showroom, Amathur, for IV Year Electrical and Electronics Engineering students. Fifteen students, along with two faculty members and one Lab Technician went for a visit. The visit mainly focused on understanding the working of a hybrid car. It provided valuable insights into hybrid technology, petrol and diesel engines, and the necessity of safety measures for drivers and passengers. It was an excellent opportunity to learn from experts of the automotive industry and to gain a deeper understanding of the cars we use every day.
Mechanical Industrial visit to VVV & SONS EDIBLE OILS LTD, Virudhunagar on 04.11.2022
The Department of Mechanical Engineering Association organised a one-day industrial visit to VVV & SONS EDIBLE OILS LTD, Virudhunagar, on 04, November, 2022, for B.E. II year Mechanical Engineering students. Dr.P.Seenikannan, HOD/Mech, Dr.G.Vairamuthu, (Asso. prof.), Dr. R.B.Jeen Robert (Asso. prof.), Mr.G.Manikandaraja (Asst. Prof.) faculty of Mechanical Engineering department accompanied with this industrial visit. The plant head received us at the entrance and gave a brief introduction about the factory in the presentation hall. Then he took us around the industry from one section to the next and explained the processes involved in making oil. Everyone inside the industry was wearing masks, safety shoes, covered hair, and gloves. The students are very interested in live learning such as: filtering process, heating process and storage yard. Finally, the industrial visit ends at 1:40 P.M.
EEE Industrial Visit on 04.11.2022
A one-day Industrial Visit was arranged for III Year Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students to Tuticorin on 04.11.2022. In Forenoon Session, students visited Venus Home Appliances. The manufacturing process of water heater and solar water heater was briefed by the company person. In afternoon session, students visited VVD and Sons Private Limited, Tuticorin. The extraction process of coconut oil was demonstrated. The students observed various machineries and packaging process in the industry. A team of 31 students, 3 teaching faculty & 2 non-teaching staff benefited through this visit.
Mechanical Industrial visit to Thermal Power Station, Tuticorin on 21.09.2022
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized one-day Industrial visit to TUTICORIN THERMAL POWER STATION, Tuticorin on 21st, September, 2022 for B.E. III year Mechanical Engineering students. Dr.G.vairamuthu (Associate Professor), Mr.A.Vignesh Moorthy Pandiyan (Asst. Prof.), Mr.R.Meby Selvaraj (Asst. Prof.),Mr. S.Balamurugan (Asst. Prof.) and Mr. M.Kaliraj (Asst. Prof.), faculty of Mechanical Engineering department were accompanied with this industrial visit. Training Engineer of Thermal Power Plant gave a detailed explanation on the processing of fuel materials, generation of electricity, types of pulverizer, Cooling Tower and safety practices followed in the industry. After that we were provided with a safety helmets and then an engineer-in-charge took us inside the power plant. He took us around the power plant from one section to another and explained each and every process involved in the generation of the electricity. Since all the processes are automated, it was handled by the control unit. All the process is centrally controlled by the control unit, it shows each and every status of the process happening. It can be monitored through data points. Finally, the industrial visit ends at 02:30P.M.
Mechanical Industrial Visit to Ramco Cements, Virudhunagar on 09.09.2022
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has organised a one-day Industrial visit to THE RAMCO CEMENTS LIMITED, Virudhunagar, on 09, September, 2022, for B.E. III year Mechanical Engineering students. Dr.P.SeeniKannan (Professor and Head), Mr.R.Meby Selvaraj (Asst. Prof.), Mr. G.Manikandaraja (Asst. Prof.) and Mr. M.Kaliraj (Asst. Prof.), faculty of the Mechanical Engineering department, were accompanied by this industrial visit.
There, the Ramco employers greeted us with buttermilk as a refreshment. Then, an engineer-in-charge of production at Ramco Cements Limited gave a detailed explanation of the usage of raw materials, the manufacture of the cements, the types of cements, a few basics in the machining and safety instructions to maintain safety. The plant manager explained each and every process involved in the production of the cement. Finally, the industrial visit ends at 01:40P.M. The students of Mechanical Engineering learned how the machines are controlled through a control system, the mechanical processes involved in the manufacturing of cements and 5S principles followed in the factory.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has organised a one-day Industrial visit to SUN PRESSING PVT LTD, Madurai, on 18, August, 2022 for B.E. IV year Mechanical Engineering students. Dr. R.B. JeenRobert (Asso. prof.), Mr. R.Meby Selvaraj (Asst. Prof.) and Mr. P.C.Rajarajan (Asst. Prof.), faculty of Mechanical Engineering department, accompanied this industrial visit. An engineer-in-charge of production in the Sun Pressing industry received us at the entrance and gave a brief introduction about the factory. Then he took us around the industry from one section to the next and explained the processes involved in making brackets, shells, pallets, etc. The workers were doing their work with more concentration. Everyone inside the industry was wearing masks, safety shoes and gloves. Finally, the industrial visit ends at 12:40 P.M.
