In order to raise awareness among the students about Swami Vivekanada’s philosophies, values, and ideals, the NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering & Technology observed National Youth Day on January 12, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. Dr. J. Dharmaraja, Head of Department, presented a shawl as a token of appreciation to the key guests. The Special Sub-Inspector of Police, Virudhunagar, Mr. V. Kasivishwanathan, gave the lecture on road safety awareness. The session was enhanced by Ms. ST. Divya Vishalini, First Year, CSE, who shared motivational quotes about Swami Vivekananda’s life with the volunteers. Every NSS volunteer has registered on the My Bharat Portal with their personal information. This program was coordinated by the NSS unit coordinator, Mr. S. Balamurugan.
Higher Education Guidance Program for School Students on 05.01.2024
As per the instructions given by the State NSS Officer, the NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering & Technology organized the Higher Education Guidance Program on 05-01-2024 at KSG Government Higher Secondary School, Amathur. The NSS Program Officer and the NSS Volunteers attended the School Management Committee (SMC) meeting and interacted with the members. Along with the headmaster, SMC members, NSS volunteers, and staff members visited the school campus. NSS volunteers explained the features available on the Naan Mudhalvan website for school students. NSS volunteers interacted with school students and gave higher education guidance on various options available after higher secondary education. NSS volunteers insisted the school students utilize the Naan Mudhalvan portal for entrance exam notification and preparation. 115 students actively attended the program. This guidance program was coordinated by the NSS unit coordinator, Mr. S. Balamurugan, and the placement officer, Dr. V. Vivek.
World AIDS Day – An Awareness Program on 01.12.2023
With reference to the circular (F.No.2-81/2023-24/NSS-RD/5553-5600) from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering and Technology organized the awareness program about World AIDS Day on December 1, 2023. The importance of this day was delivered by NSS volunteer Navaneethan M. NSS Volunteers raised awareness of World AIDS Day among college students. To prevent the stigma and discrimination related to HIV/AIDS, NSS volunteers take the pledge. To disseminate information related to AIDS, an online quiz is organized at the college. The program was coordinated by the NSS unit coordinator, Mr. S. Balamurugan.
Constitution Day Celebration on 28.11.2023
In view of Indian Constitution Day, the NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering and Technology celebrated the Indian Constitution Day on 28.11.2023 in all the classroom. The history of this special day was delivered by NSS Volunteer Antony Raja A. From this speech, everyone understood that the Constitution of India is the supreme law of India. Constitution Day speech was organized during which the volunteers read the preamble and briefed about the fundamental laws of the constitution that everyone should be aware of. The Great thoughts & ideas of Dr.Bhimarao Ramji Ambedkar were discussed. The program was coordinated by the NSS unit coordinator Mr.S.Balamurugan.
Vigilance Awareness Program on 01.11.2023
In view of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023, the NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering and Technology, in association with the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department, Virudhunagar, organized the awareness program with the theme “Say No to Corruption, Commit to Nation” on November 1, 2023. This program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of vigilance, the consequences of corruption, and the role students play in maintaining a corruption-free society. The event was graced by the presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. M. Sekar, Principal, Mr.Salvan Durai, Inspector of Police, and Mr. Boominadhan, Inspector of Police, Virudhunagar, whose insights and experiences added great value to the program. The session included discussions on real-life case studies and the impact of corruption on society. A significant part of the program involved students taking a pledge to uphold ethical values, reject corruption, and report any unethical practices they might encounter. RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS PLEDGE TAKING CEREMONY on 28.10.2023
With reference to the circular (D.O.No. 11018/13/2023-ESEB) from Ministry of Education, the NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering and Technology celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel as a Unity Day on 28.10.2023. The day is now celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Divas or National Unity Day, to honour his monumental achievement of integrating more than 550 princely states into the Union of India. The history of this special day was delivered by NSS Volunteer Bhuvanesh A. The event started with a pledge taking ceremony that embarked the spirit of nationalism among the fellow students. The program was coordinated by the NSS unit coordinator Mr.S.Balamurugan.
Blood Donation Camp on 28.10.2023
With reference to the requisition letter from the Health Department, Virudhunagar, NSS unit, and Rotaract Club of AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi organised a “Blood Donation Camp” for all students and staff in association with Virudhunagar Government Hospital and HDFC Bank. This camp was inaugurated by Dr. V. Shanthini Gilta and Dr. P. Arockia Rubanraj, Government Medical College, Virudhunagar. Our College Rotaract club coordinator, Dr. R. Meby Selvaraj, encouraged students to donate blood as it is not harmful and the body of the donor can regenerate the blood within a few days. District Health officials Mr. Vinayagamoorthy and S. Paramasivam visited the camp and appreciated the blood donors and volunteers for their service. More than 100 volunteers came forward to donate blood, and 100 units of blood were collected by health officials. The donors were provided with a certificate. This camp was coordinated by Dr. R. Meby Selvaraj, Rotaract Club Coordinator, and NSS Unit Coordinator, Mr. S. Balamurugan.
Awareness Programme “YOU ARE YOUR FRIEND AND FOE” on 19.10.2023
The NSS unit of AAA College of Engineering and Technology and Sri Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Peravai, Sivakasi, jointly organized the awareness programme “YOU ARE YOUR FRIEND AND FOE” on October 19, 2023, on the college campus. NSS Volunteer B.Rohith Gurubala welcomed the chief guest, Swami Vimokshananda, Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Yelagiri Hills. The principal, Dr. M. Sekar, gave the felicitation address and presented the memento to the chief guest as a token of gratitude. The chief guest spoke on the vision of Swami Vivekananda and how the students, the present youth of the country, contribute towards nation-building. The chief guest encouraged the students to pursue their studies and gave useful suggestions for achieving success in their careers. The chief guest insisted the students maintain discipline in their lives.
Awareness program on Food Adulteration and Food Safety on 04.10.2023
The NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with the Virudhunagar District Food Safety Department, conducted an awareness program on food adulteration on the college campus on April 10, 2023 to create awareness among the students about the adulteration of food. The principal, Dr. M. Sekar, welcomed the chief guest from the food safety department and also explained the importance of healthy food for a healthy life to the students. In this event, Mr. Ibrahim, Food Safety Officer, explained to the students the operations of the mobile laboratory with testing equipment for adulterated food products. Clean India – Clean Campus Program on 29.09.2023
With the vision of creating a clean nation, Mahatma Gandhi coined the phrase “Cleanliness is Godliness.” In view of Gandhiji’s birthday celebration, the NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi, conducted a “Clean India—Clean Campus” program on September 29, 2023, on the college campus. The chief guests, Dr.C. Senthil Kumar, HoD/EEE, and Dr.S. Krishnapriya, HoD/Civil, paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. The NSS volunteers explained the importance of cleanliness to the college students. The volunteers cleaned the college campus by wearing gloves and collecting all the plastic waste materials. NSS Volunteer Antony Raja (II Year Mechanical) insisted all the students keep their classes clean by dropping the waste in the dustbin. This program was coordinated by NSS unit coordinator Mr. S.
