The Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory helps the students to understand the theoretical concepts of the courses Fluid Mechanics and Applied Hydraulic Engineering.
The following are the main objectives of the Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory:
- To find the discharge in the pipe network and open channels using various equipments
- To determine the suitability of pumping system for the public water distribution system and study about the different types of pumps
- To find the suitability of the different types of turbines depending upon the quantity of water available in the sources like dams etc.
- To study about the different types of losses in pipes
