Vaccination Drive for COVID-19
WHO has declared the COVID-19 epidemic affecting countries as a Pandemic. COVID-19 vaccination will help save lives, stabilize health systems and drive economic recovery. India rolled out the world’s largest vaccination drive from January 16 to vaccinate the citizens against the coronavirus disease. The Primary Health Centre, Amathur & NSS Unit of AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi organized a Vaccination drive for the staff members in the college campus. Nearly 50 staff members were benefitted from this drive. This vaccination drive was inaugurated by our honorable Principal Dr.M.Sekar. The team of frontline workers from the Primary health centre, Amathur headed by Dr.V.Vaitheki has successfully vaccinated our staff members. This drive was coordinated by the NSS unit coordinator Mr. S. Balamurugan Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Physical Director Mr.K.Rajkumar.
Interactive session / Mentoring Session with “Successful Start-up founders”
Institute Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of AAACET organized an Interactive session / Mentoring Session with “Successful Start-up founders” (Entrepreneurs in campus) on 12-04-2021 in Google meet at 10:30AM. For this interactive session Jc. Er. N. Kannan, B.E., Proprietor – NK Enterprises, Virudhunagar. Distinguished Alumnus of AAACET (2015-2019 Batch – MECH) and Mr. P. Selvakumar, B.E., PVS Machine Builders, Srivilliputhur. Distinguished Alumnus of AAACET (2016-2020 Batch – MECH) are the eminent Speakers. Totally 28 students from various departments are participated in this interactive session. Mr.N. Kannan & Mr. P. Selvakumar both are shared their experience and interact with participants. From this interactive session participants got clear idea about how to register a company and what are they documents they should prepared for the registration. Also they clarified the queries raised by a participants. Finally the session came to an end at 12.40 p.m.

The event started with a welcome address by Mr. Sivasankar,Co-ordinator – EDC Cell, Assistant Professor/ Civil Engineering and who gave a brief introduction about this session. Our distinguished Alumnus, JC. Er. N. Kannan, B.E., Proprietor – NK Enterprises, Virudhunagar (2015-2019 Batch – MECH) and Mr. P. Selvakumar, B.E., PVS Machine Builders, Srivilliputhur, (2016-2020 Batch – MECH) were the eminent speakers for this interactive session. Mr.N. Kannan & Mr. P. Selvakumar both are shared their experience and interact with participants. From this interactive session participants got clear idea about how to register a company and what are they documents they should prepared for the registration. The event was backed-up from the participant’s end with an interactive live Question and Answers session. The event came to an end with a vote of thanks and the participants gave their feedback and asked to conduct more events towards Start-up development. ECE INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO BSNL
Electronics and Communication Engineering department organized an industrial visit to BSNL, Virudhunagar on 22.04.2021 for the II- and III-Year students. District Telecom Centre, Virudhunagar is one of the prime centres of BSNL in the south region of Tamilnadu. BSNL is the only service provider, making focused efforts & planned initiatives to bridge the rural-urban digital divide in ICT sector. BSNL serves its customers with a wide bouquet of telecom services namely Wire line, CDMA mobile, GSM mobile, Internet, Broadband, Carrier service, MPLS-VPN, VSAT, VoIP, IN Services, FTTH, etc. About 40 students visited the BSNL. During the visit BSNL engineers explained the students about the working principles of various Telecom equipment’s and both wired and wireless networks. Students visited the following sections of BSNL’s District Telecom Centre:
- Broadband Technology Section
- Optical Fiber Cable and System Section
- Digital Telephone Exchange – C-Dot Section
- Mobile Communication Section
- Computer Networking and IP Addressing Section
The Industrial visit to BSNL was highly beneficial to the students in understanding the concepts of telecommunication and networking principles. The visit also provided the students with understanding the real time functioning of the telecommunication and networking principles what they have studied in their course works.
Industrial Visit – Civil
The second, third & fourth year Civil Engineering students visited a hospital construction site located near Government Hospital Virudhunagar, on 26th march 2021. The site engineer Mr. Muthu, explained the details of proposed hospital building, importance of soil tests and demonstrated the marking of foundation. The students also visited an independent residential three storeyed building in which the ground floor was constructed purely by stones so that the building remains cool even during the hot summer. The students were also given practice to mark the measurements of building on the site. This visit benefited students as they acquired practical knowledge.
