CAD Laboratory

Lab courses Handled in the Lab:

• CE8211 – Computer Aided Building Drawing (I Year – II Semester)
• CE3611 – Building Drawing and Detailing Laboratory (III Year – VI Semester)

The CAD Laboratory is equipped with AutoCAD software which is extensively used for creating 2D drawings and 3D models. The knowledge gained in the lab eventually equips the students to provide quality service once employed in the industry.

The following are the main objectives of CAD Laboratory:

• To present an overview of CADD and describe its application in different fields
• To improve the visualization ability of building components and assemblies before their actual construction through modeling, animation, rendering and coloring.
• To acquire hand on experience in design and preparation of structural drawings for concrete/ steel structures normally encountered in Civil Engineering practice

A well-equipped computer laboratory with advanced facilities is established for the benefit of the students. High end terminals supported by latest hardware and software, plotting devices, etc. are also available in the laboratory. Advanced civil engineering softwares like Oracle Primavera, Revit Architecture, ANSYS and STAAD Pro are provided for making the students globally competitive and industry ready. The students can draft the plan, section and elevation of the various types of buildings. In addition, the students can model, analyse and design the various structural components of a structure.
