MOTIVATIONAL PROGRAM – BANKING EXAMINATIONS (IBPS)
AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi, and “AAACET NSS UNIT” conducted the motivational program about the IBPS examinations for all the final year students and staff members on 28.01.2019. Our beloved Professor Dr.J.Maheswaran welcomed the chief guest Mr.P.Venkatachalam, Managing Director, National Institute of Banking, Madurai. Our chief guest delivered the lecture about the methods to prepare for the IBPS examinations. He motivated the students that all of them can clear the examinations. Many students and staff have gained more information about the competitive examinations. This program was coordinated by the NSS unit coordinator Mr. S. Balamurugan Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering.

Our chief guest delivered the lecture about the ways to prepare for the competitive examinations especially UPSC exams. He motivated the students that all of them can clear the examinations. Many students and staff have gained more information about the competitive examinations. This program was coordinated by Mr.V.Thiraviarajan, Assistant Professor, Science & Humanities Department and the NSS unit coordinator Mr. S. Balamurugan Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering.

ELECTION AWARENESS PROGRAM

AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi, and “AAACET NSS UNIT” conducted the Election Awareness Program for all students and staff members. Assistant Professor Mr.V.Thiraviarajan welcomed the chief guest Mr. R. Vijay, Best NSS Volunteer – Tamilnadu. Our chief guest delivered the talk about the importance of participation in an electoral process and to ensure a responsive, accountable and democratically elected government. He motivated the students that no voter should be left out. Also he insisted to convey this information to their parents and relatives. Many students and staff have gained more information about the importance of voting. This program was coordinated by the NSS unit coordinator Mr. S. Balamurugan, Rotaract club coordinator Mr.R.Meby Selvaraj, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering.

FDP on Internet of Things
Two days faculty development program on Internet of Things in association with Riyassa Labs was held on 16-01-2019 and 17-01-2019 at Centre for IIoT, AAA College of Engineering and Technology. This FDP made the participants to realize the importance of IoT and its applications in various fields. This training was imparted in different applications of wireless, embedded and IoT using lecture sessions, hands on training and developing product ideas into a working prototype.
Day wise report as follows:
Day 1: Session I – 16.01.2019
The course started with a formal inauguration ceremony. Experts from Riyassa Labs delivered the origin and importance of IoT followed by the recent development of IoT. He gave talk on basics of sensors and actuators, Arduino programming – Interfacing and configuration of sensors with arduino software.
Day 1: Session II – 16.01.2019
Experts handled hands on training on working with sensors like Temperature, Humidity, IR Sensor, Ultrasonic Sensor, Gas Sensor, Light and Moisture Sensor, PIR and Color Sensors.
Day 2: Session I – 17.01.2019
The faculty members worked with HC-05 Bluetooth module by controlling the sensors and actuators using HC-05 module Bluetooth mobile app. By using this concept, faculty members designed a smart home system of controlling the light and fan using mobile app.
Day 2: Session II – 17.01.2019
This session had an expert talk about the Node MCU – ESP8266 and integrating the sensor real time values to the cloud. The sensed data is uploaded to the ThingsSpeak cloud using ESP8266 Module. The real time data is visualized as graphical representation using matlab code available in the cloud. The session was followed by the closing ceremony.
Outcomes of the FDP program
- Participants would be familiar with IoT systems and applications.
- Participants would be able to work with various sensors and actuators.
- Participants would be able to design an IoT – smart system using Bluetooth module and ESP8266.
- Participants would be able to integrate sensors with cloud and access real time data.
Workshop on Productive Tools for Writing Journals and Articles on 07.01.2019 & 08.01.2019
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized Two days National Level Workshop entitled with “Productive Tools for Writing Journal and Articles” from January 07th to 08th 2019. As a cumulative, 40 number of faculties, research scholars and students from various institutions were eagerly participated in this workshop. Principal Dr. M. Sekar, presided over the function and delivered his felicitation address to the participants. During his address, he pointed out the importance of the workshop and also motivated the participants to develop the journal writing skills with the aid of modern tools. Head of the department, Dr. C. Senthil Kumar gave his inaugural address where he explained the importance of tools that are used for journal preparation. He also discussed the essential qualities of a good research paper.
In the first day of workshop, productive features of Microsoft word and Microsoft visio were introduced and hands on training was provided for all the participants. Mr. M. S. Kalyana Sundaram, Assistant Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering presented the various advanced features available in Microsoft word 2016. Mr. S. S. Dheeban, Assistant Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering delivered his presentation about the various grammar & spell checking tools available in online. Mr. S. Saravanan, Assistant Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering gave hands on training on Microsoft Visio, where he trained the participants to work with MS visio for creating and exporting the general diagrams, organizational charts, Engineering diagrams, floor plans and plots.
Second day of the programme started with the concepts of Plagiarism checking which was presented by Dr. R. Sivasangari, Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Dr. G. Vairamuthu, Associate Professor of Department of Mechanical Engineering provided his lecture on Journal writing methodologies. He delivered about impact factor, citations, calculation of h-index & i-index. Principal, Dr. M. Sekar shared his knowledge and experience in Endnote-clarivate analytics for thesis preparation. LaTeX is one of the productive tool used for journal & thesis writing. Resource person, Dr. N. Kamatchi, Associate Professor in Department of Mathematics, Kamaraj College of Engineering and Technology, Virudhunagar, presented a lecture about the LaTeX tool & its importance. Mr. L. K. Balaji Vignesh, Assistant Professor of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, assisted the hands on training session. During valedictory function, certificates were distributed to all the participants. Mr. S. Saravanan, Assistant Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, extended his gratitude for the supporters and participants.
Faculty Development Programme on Internet of Things
Centre for Industry oriented Internet of Things organizes Two days Faculty Development Programme on Internet of Things on 16/01/2019 & 17/01/2019 in association with Riyasaa Labs.
The Internet of things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to connect and exchange data. IoT platform provides development of number of applications smart grids, virtual power plants, smart homes, intelligent transportation and smart cities. This FDP aims to make the participants realize the importance of IoT and its applications in various fields as well as to demonstrate some demo projects on specific applications. It gives an introduction to IoT, so that participants can learn to build their own IoT products for various applications, and it also enables them to convert their product ideas into a working prototype.

வீட்டுக்கு ஒரு விஞ்ஞானி – 2018 – Polytechnic Students
AAACET has crossed another mile stone in its journey by conducting State Level “Veettukku Oru Vingnani” for Polytechnic College Diploma students in collaboration with Puthiya Thalaimurai on 19th December 2018 (Wednesday) at the college premises. Totally 250 students from various Polytechnic colleges exhibited their innovative projects in various fields. Nearly 600 Students from in and around our Virudhunagar District encouraged the participants by appreciating the projects directly. Not appreciating viewing the projects directly. The arrangements were made in a grand manner as usual.
The Chief Guest was none other than the former Senior Scientist Nellai, Mr. S. Muthu Indian Space Research Organization. The Chief Guest explained the importance of technology and the need for innovative projects for the development of the nation. He has explained the achievements of ISRO in a brief manner. The only scientist in this world to write 140 books in the mother tongue. He is the first scientist in this century to receive the National Award for Popularizing Science, the five state awards. He received the five times The best writer award from Tamil Nadu Government. And he also received the Bharathiyar Award from Pondicherry. His Science “Athichudi” has been included in syllabus and it is prescribed for the sixth standard students in Tamil.
Our Principal graciously welcomed the gathering. Our correspondent Dr. P.Ganesan and Our joint secretary Er.K.Vignesh kumar are graced the occasion. Our management was generous enough to give Special JuryCash award of rupees two thousand to five projects, and third prize Cash Award of rupees five thousand for five projects each and rupees ,Ten thousand for Second prize and rupees Fifteen thousand for First prize. Puthiya thalaimurai gave Shields to The first, second and third prize winners.
The senior manager of Puthiya Thalaimurai gave vote of thanks. The participants from various polytechnic colleges were wonderstruck by grandeur of AAA AND PRAISED THE HOSPITALITY and the arrangements to the sky.

Workshop on Data Analytics using R-Software
AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi, Department of Mathematics organized the “NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL WORKSHOP ON DATA ANALYTICS USING R-SOFTWARE” on 15.11.2018 & 16.11.2018. Chief Guest for this workshop was Dr. S. AZARUHDEEN, Assistant Professor, Christ Deemed to be University, Bangalore. The day was started with lighting of Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries. Dr.S.Sevugarajan, Professor & Head/Science and Humanities, welcomed the gathering. Principal, Dr.M.Sekar, presided over the function. Principal, during his felicitation address elaborated the importance of utilizing the software for solving the mathematical models. Dr.P.Ganesan, Correspondent delivered the presidential address. He gave motivational speech to the participants to participate in more workshops to enhance their skills. Er.K.Vignesh Kumar, Joint Secretary honoured the chief guest with memento.
First day, Dr. S. AZARUHDEEN explained the importance and introduction to R-software. R-Software is a Statistical data Analysis Software (SAS), he added. Participants experienced hands on training during the workshop. During second day, He covered the important tests (T-Test & F-Test) for analysing statistical data.
All the participants received participation certificates during the valedictory function. Participants gave good feedback about the workshop. Workshop coordinator, Dr.R.Senthil Kumar, Professor, Department of Mathematics, delivered vote of thanks. Finally the programme was ended with national anthem.
