Microprocessor and Microcontroller Laboratory

• EC 8681 – Microprocessor and Microcontroller Laboratory (III Year – VI Semester)

The main objective of the Microprocessor and Microcontroller lab facility is to enable the students to gain practical knowledge about various types of microprocessors and microcontrollers and to develop their own programs and implement the same in microprocessors/microcontrollers for various applications in electronic and communication engineering. Various types of arithmetic and logical operations are taught to the students in the laboratory so that it will enable them to understand the concepts about assembly language programming, CPU, memory and I/O design, interfacing of programmable chips and peripherals such as stepper motors, analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, etc.

Various types of microprocessor, microcontroller trainer kits and interfacing modules are available in this lab. These are used to provide intensive practical exposure to the students in understanding the internal architecture of the microprocessors/microcontrollers and in developing the associated software and hardware for various applications.

The students are trained to understand the Serial Data Communication using microprocessor/microcontrollers trainer kits, to interface the microprocessor with different circuits such as A/D converter, Stepper motors, DC mototrs, LCD and Seven Segment displays, etc.
