Global Trends in Science & Technology-“India’s Challenges and Opportunities”
Sivakasi, AAA College of Engineering &Technology organized a special Guest Lecture “Global Trends in Science & Technology-India’s Challenges and Opportunities” on March 2, 2018 around 10 a.m. in the college A/C seminar hall. Prof.Dr.Vijendra Agarwal, Former Executive Fellow in the white house office of science and technology policy, USA was the guest of honor of the programme. Joint Secretary Er. K. Vignesh Kumar B.E., MBA (UK) headed over the programme. Dr.R.Jegannathan, Former Vice–Chancellor, Middle East University, UAE delivered the felicitation address.
The chief guest in his speech insisted that Change is inevitable and constant. Only education could change the nation, especially women’s education and advised the students to be equipped with a thorough knowledge in their domain and upgrade themselves in recent technology. Students are the future and it’s their obligation to the society’s development in a collaborative nature and they should develop their entrepreneurial skills, he added. He insisted the students to get inspired with what they are learning, excel their technical competency skills and contribute to the society’s betterment. He encouraged the students to know the ‘don’t knows in science and technology’. He added that the younger generation need to possess 4Ts – Talent, Technology, Team Work, Think critically to solve problems and communicate effectively. He further appreciated the Indians’ cleverness in make-do technologies.
Guest Lecture on “Electrical Drives and Controls” on 27.02.2018
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a Guest lecture on Electrical Drives and Controls on 27.02.2018 II and III year EEE students. Dr.J.Gnanavadivel, Associate Professor/EEE, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi was the resource person for the programme. He explained about different types of speed control methods for Electrical drives.
National Level Technical Symposium
National Level Technical Symposium named ‘POKHRAN-2K17’ was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi, on 15.09.2017. Dr.G.Vairamuthu, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering welcomed the gathering. Dr.C.Senthil Kumar, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering motivated the students to be creative and innovative.
More than 200 participants from various engineering colleges actively participated and presented their paper in the area of Design, Thermal, Manufacturing, Automobile and Composite Materials.
Various technical events like Quiz, CAD Modeling, Aqua Missile, CNC Pro and ALCATRAZ were conducted in a grand manner in order to enhance the skills of students.
The cash awards were given to the delegates who won the first and second prizes.
All facilities for the programme were well arranged in a grandeur manner. The Event Co-ordinator Mr.M.Kaliraj Assistant Professor/Department of Mechanical Engineering coordinated all the activities.
Impetus for Civil Service Exam
AAA College of Engineering & Technology, Sivakasi organized a special talk on Impetus for Civil Service Exam on 3rd February, 2018 in the college Seminar Hall. Virudhunagar District students from Arts and Science, and Engineering Colleges were present at the program. Nearly 700 students benefitted out of the program. Thiru M. Prathap, Tamil Nadu IAS Topper (2016 – 17 Batch) was the guest of honour. In the presence of the Correspondent Dr.P. Panjurajan Ganesan The Principal, Dr. K. Arulmozhi welcomed the gathering. The guest of honour inaugurated the I Create Entrepreneurs of AAACET. Dr. A. Raja, Senior Faculty, Vetri IAS Academy felicitated the program. Thiru M. Prathap spellbound the audience throw his speech. He explained the importance of concentrating on concentration. He nailed his argument saying that the students need to be focused on their goals. The
literacy rate of Tamil Nadu is more than that of India. Yet the percentage of youngsters entering civil service examination is comparatively less. So, he encouraged the students to choose and utilize the opportunities to serve the nation. He then enthusiastically clarified the doubts of the students.
Four Days Hands on Training on Electrician
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized Four days Hands on Training on Electrician course. Nearly 20 students from I.T.I actively participated in the programme. Practical Training was given on basic wiring, handling of Electrical equipments & tools, troubleshooting, maintenance of Electrical equipments and Soldering practice. Dr.K.Arulmozhi, Principal motivated the participants to learn the practical skills for the expectation of industries. Dr.C.Senthil Kumar, Head of the Department delivered a lecture on Fundamentals of Electrical wiring and Electrical safety in workplace. Dr.R.Sivasangari, Director Vocational courses motivated the students and also handled practical session on Power and Energy measurement. Mr.C.Karuppsamy, Assistant Professor/EEE, made necessary arrangements and coordinated all the activities of the programme. All the Teaching faculty and non-teaching staff from the department handled various session. The participation certificates were distributed to all the participants in the valedictory function. This training will help them to start their career as an Entrepreneur.

From the visit they had understood that the greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance it is illusion of knowledge .They had visited Anna aluminium pvt. Ltd, Cochin shipyard, Best pumps pvt. Ltd, GeDee Museum, TATA Tea factory, national fittings Ltd. Finally the hands are the instruments of mans intelligence.
